80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade (80 ODSHBr, military unit A0284, item B3720):

The 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade is a brigade-sized military unit of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Based in Lviv.

In the early 1990s, the unit was a training center, later transformed into a brigade. In the 1990s and 2000s, she participated in international exercises and peacekeeping missions.
In the spring of 2014, it was among the first to be raised to repel Russian aggression, the units were sent to the northeastern borders of Ukraine. Servicemen of the brigade took part in the first battle of the war in Donbas — on April 13, 2014, near Semenivka, and later they took part in the battles for Sloviansk.

Other units of the brigade were stationed in the Luhansk region, where they fought in the area of ​​Metalist, Georgiyivka and Lutugyny, Luhansk airport, Novosvitlivka and Khryashchuvaty. In the autumn of 2014, the fighters of the brigade were ambushed near Veselaya Gora, and later took part in the battles for the 32nd checkpoint.

Since 2016, the brigade has been reformed into an amphibious assault brigade and received a tank unit. From February 24, 2022, the unit takes an active part in repelling the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
