The nomadic culture of the Polovtsians had close ties with Russia, and after assimilation on Ukrainian lands, left behind a unique historical heritage - “Polovtsian women”. The eastern and southern territories of Ukraine, inhabited by this ethnic group, later became part of the Cossack wild field. The Cossacks defended these territories at the cost of their own lives from the attacks of the enemy, the eastern neighbor. The print also depicts a falcon, which in Slavic mythology was a symbol of mediation between the world of the living and the dead. So the souls of all the destroyed occupiers will be delivered to hell itself. The background is colored by the sunrise of the Ukrainian sun and the famous “Polovtsian women” - the personification of centuries-old Ukrainian history.
