History:

The International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine (ukr. International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine) is a volunteer military unit, created by the government of Ukraine as part of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky in February 2022, to repel the Russian invasion. This is one of several Ukrainian volunteer battalions formed since 2014. Foreign volunteers are recruited into the legion.
